“This might be the day…”
Indeed, Mr. Roberts, indeed. The words above emerged from the mouth of the Dodger skipper after an incredible comeback against the Phillies at Chavez Ravine last night. The victory could certainly be something to build on. Los Dogs entered the bottom of the ninth down 5-2…
Puig pounced back after an 0-2 count to smoke the first home run. Bellinger’s second blast of the night followed. Justin Turner rolled off the bench and nearly scorched it out of the stadium. Three “bombs” in-a-row, in the words of Phillies manager, Pete Mackanin. For the second time this week, Los Dogs took the lead after they were tied or down after the eighth inning. Final score: Dodgers 6, Phillies 5.
“This might be the day…”
Can The Dodgers Build On The Big Buzz?
Yes! These type of comeback wins lead to glorious winning streaks. Bellinger certainly provided a spark. Gonzo’s shaken some cobwebs off his stick this week and appears to be headed in the right direction at the plate. Overall, he’s on the decline, but A-Gone still has a lot of love to give. Who said he’s not clutch? We did, actually…
Cody Is Not A Dog’s Name
Well, it kind of is, but what a night for the call-up kid! Two big blasts in a righteous comeback has got to feel warm and fuzzy, especially after naysayers were predicting a return to Bricktown any day now (which may still happen anyway.)
Did rascalsoftheravine Predict The 3-Jack Comeback?
Well, we did play the 3 Lock Box album by Sammy Hagar right before the game. We also ordered several 3-piece chicken platters from Popeye’s at lunch…and we DID put Tres Flores in our hair yesterday morning! The entire staff! Surely the team took note of our contribution! Maybe now we won’t have to use the Mascot’s Entrance at Dodger Stadium anymore…
Pampered scribes predictably called it a “Hollywood Ending”…cause the Dodgers play in Hollywood…and we all go surfing before and after games…and we’re forced to weave through a sea of selfie-snapping celebrities at every game…and no one cares and there’s no passion…it’s a good thing we have people from the east coast to tell us how we live!
Sunday Sweep? A Bewitching Afternoon At Dodger Stadium!
Brooms are not just for Samantha Stephens! Bring yours to the ravine this afternoon for “Dr. Bombay Day”. Cheer on the Dodgers as they go for a series sweep against the Phillies! The first 30,000 fans admitted with brooms get a free pitcher of martinis, courtesy of our friends at Tanqueray!
The Ravishing Ryu (c’mon it would have been his nickname if he was a wrestler in the 1950s) will take on Nick Pivetta today at 1:10. We’ve ripped on Ryu, but he went six strong in his last start…
The hated ones arrive tomorrow! Until then, mirth-seekers!
