Classless Cubs Rub It In At Wrigley

Lackey's Twin...Haywire

April 12, 2017 by Shannon Michael Smith

Boy, we knew it would be bad in Chicago, but Christ! A replay of Game 6 of the NLCS on the jumbo during the rain delay? As if the ceremony wasn’t enough! It’s like the Cubs inflated a forty-foot tall middle finger and kept it in center field all night! Dodger/Cub confrontations usually lack the bitterness of say, the Giants rivalry, but Chicago really it rubbed it in on Monday. Dodger fans won’t forget this when the Cubs show up in Los Angeles in May…

“Cubs Nation”??? Eeesssshhhh…

The 2-1 loss Monday night was the same old song and dance for Los Dogs…a typical patchwork of starters and relievers kept it close, but the Dodgers were 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position…Romo took the loss as he exited the game with a runner on base, Jansen surrendered the game-winning single.

McCarthy (he was decent through six innings in his first start BUT WHEN WILL THE INJURY FLARE UP? insert nail-biting emoji here) will take the hill vs fun-faced John Lackey at 5:05 today in Game 2 of the series. Has anyone mentioned Lackey’s uncanny resemblance to Silas Weir Mitchell? He’s the actor who played Charles “Haywire” Patoshik on the TV Show Prison Break (see photo above).

Lackey sure has the “crazy eyes” thing going…maybe after he retires he can play bit parts in flicks, like knife-wielding punks or sweating junkies or ANYONE WHO RIDES THE ORANGE LINE IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY…

Will Bill Murray be at the game tonight? We were wondering if there’s an event that Bill has crashed where he wasn’t welcomed with glee. Like, has he ever crashed a funeral? A Quinceañera? A Satanic ritual? Inquiring minds want to know!

Until tomorrow, mirth-seekers!!!
