Clayton Kershaw’s path to the Hall of Fame continues. Last night, he collected his seventh win this season against the Cincinnati Reds with a complete game shutout, 1-0. Not only did Kershaw win every game he pitched in May, but he’s now 7-1 with a microscopic 1.48 ERA. Clayton’s streak of ten strikeouts or more per outing came to a halt because we mentioned that the streak would continue in the last post. Sorry.
As the scoreboard showed, the boys in blue didn’t back their ace up at the plate much, as they only eked out one run on five hits.
Bolsinger’s back in town tonight! Ross Stripling was sent down after he tossed three innings in that 17-inning fun fest last Sunday in San Diego. He’ll face Cincinnati’s Daniel Wright, a greenie (sorry Reds, couldn’t resist) fresh outta Triple-A. Wright served time with the Louisville Bats who play at Louisville Slugger Field in…you guessed it, Louisville, Kentucky.
Wright’s walk up song? The Kingsmen’s “Louie, Louie”, of course!
The way the Dodgers have been swinging the sticks lately, we think the advantage goes to the greenie Wright, as no one on the team (not to mention the major leagues) has seen his stuff. Can decrepit Dodger bats figure out Wright after a few innings?
Hey! The Super Bowl returns to Los Angeles! Numero 55 will be played right here in Tinseltown! We don’t talk pigskin much here, but we are excited to get The Rams back. At the Coliseum, no less, yes! There is a certain ancient staffer here at rascalsoftheravine.com that had a Vince Ferragamo jersey when he was ten years old…
Alright, enough, what about tonight’s game? Will Bolsinger bowl down numerous ‘Nati dreadlocks? Will Daniel Wright be the Dodgers wrong? Will Carl Crawford make $17,000 a minute for filing his nails? Stay tuned! Until next time, mirth seekers!
